Random Astro babble thoughts that have been marinating in my head recently…
Rising signs are so fascinating to me because they are almost entirely unconscious. You can never actively tap into that energy, really. Once you start considering how you’re coming off and what people around you are perceiving, it immediately becomes a Mercurial action (communication). So you very rarely, if ever, get the chance to experience that energy emanating from you. Which is why people are often confused by their rising signs, I think.
We need to remove Scorpio and Capricorn from the ‘Signs Who Never Get Over Anything’ list and put Sagittarius and Pisces on it. They will actively and passively hate a person until their dying day but because they’re gregarious and dreamy, people won’t recognize it. (Cancers also don’t forgive, but you didn’t hear it from me.)
Your Moon sign is vital to understanding Why You Keep Doing That™. It’s where you find comfort! It’s what keeps you from losing it!
To get out of that rut, you need to learn to handle your Mars and all that it entails. That’s what will get you moving forward.
I don’t have the words for it yet, but the Cancer/Capricorn axis and their need to be needed vs the resentment they feel toward being needed… is something I need to stew on. Yeah.
Taurean materialism is actually their way of connecting to the world. They externalize their connection to the world. Their possessions remind them that they existed. Everything they own is personal because it becomes part of who they are.
I think last year’s Venus retrograde was so destructive because it started retrograding in one of its homes (Taurus), and then the combined influence of the North Node transit into Aries (self-preservation and bravery) and South Node transit into Libra (questioning relationships with people as a whole). If it had just been the retrograde itself, everyone would have just found a way to get over it without confronting it.
Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius all represent different ways we connect as humanity (Our Communications, Our Relationships, Our Beliefs). If you forget to look at these signs through those lenses, you’ll miss vital information.
Every Mercury retrograde is a stark reminder about how much we need each other. When communication gets rough and muddled, we simply cease to function. It’s sweet. (Maybe if I appease Mercury, my Microsoft teams will finally work again.)
